Selling your car or trading it in? Is your company nearing the end of its lease?

It has been said that with Real Estate it is Position, Position, Position,
Well in cars I believe it is Presentation, Presentation, Presentation.

Thought - Perception is more important than reality,

If it looks great the purchaser will think it's great.
If it looks well maintained the purchaser will think it has been well maintained
If it looks like a Million Dollars you may just get it. If it doesn't you never will.

Checklist when selling your car if you want to get the best value for it.

  • Presentation, Clean, tidy, and undamaged.
  • Safety Certificate (RWC) (Just RWC)
  • REVS Cert of encumberment
  • History of quality servicing. (Log Books)
  • If you have to replace any tyres to present your vehicle for sale go for known brands remember the person looking at you car is just like you and afraid of the unknown. (Quick Fit Tyres - 38444103) If they look cheap, the purchaser will think you spent even less on the things they cannot see.

If you have any of the following checked contact us now, so that you get the best value for your car.

  • Stone chips - Look around the bonnet, Front Bumper Bar, Front guards, the door edges, doorsills, above the windscreen, and window trims.
  • Rub Marks on doorsills.
  • Small dents. Paintless panel repairers can offer an economical alternative to using body filler and respraying.
  • Scratches, particularly around door handles and access points.
  • Branch marks on 4X4's
  • Marks from roof Racks.
  • Dull or chipped black trims around windows and front and rear windscreens.
  • Scuffed and scratched Bumper bars not only look unsightly but also indicate how well the car has been looked after. A few little marks may change the viewpoint of a would be purchaser
  • Respray marks. The less evident the repair, the less it will devalue the car.
  • Peeling or faded pin striping
  • Dull paint makes cars look as though they have never been kept under cover.
  • Chips or small cracks in your windscreen.
  • Removed your moblie phone in car kit.
  • Stains on your carpet.
  • Holes in consoles from accessories.

Tips and hints on maintaining the best finish on your Cars Duco

  1. Remove Bug marks, Bird, and Bat droppings immediately, a dark car can be damaged permanently in a day by leaving this highly acid material to bake into the surface, even the best paint protection leaves little or no protection from this type of damage.
  2. Left alone stone chips and scratches can lead to rust and greatly devalue the car rapidly, This type of damage is not prevented by conventional rust protection. (Electronic rust prevention systems can be of assistance if fitted and maintained properly).
  3. Car washing, not just for shine, regular washing removes surface contaminants and helps prevent corrosion.
  4. Wash your car regularly with water and only a small amount of mild detergent, if your car is polished properly dirt, grease and tar will not adhere well and wash of easily. This also will wash of salts and acid rain deposits before they become a problem.
  5. When washing the car use only a soft clean cloth or sponge, Many cleaning rags and sponges carry dirt particles that scratch and damage your cars delicate surface.
  6. Always hose the car thoroughly before starting to wash it this will remove some of the larger particles and soften dried material making it easier to remove and less likely to scratch as it comes off.
  7. Wash your car in a shady spot, or if you have no choice wash it in sections and chamois each as you go so you don't leave unsightly water marks.
  8. Wax your car regularly. Liquid Waxes are non abrasive and won't abrade the paint as some polishes can, these offer good short term protection.
  9. Treat your paint with a good protector every 12 months.

Tips and hints on maintaining the rest of your vehicle

  1. Clean windows and then polish with white paper towel this will help remove any residual cleaning agents and vinyl fume on the inside. (USE ONLY WATER AND SOFT CLOTH ON TINTED SURFACES)
  2. After cleaning the outside of the windows use a product like Rainex to treat the glass, not only will the water bead like a polished surface making it easier to see, but also bugs etc will not stick either.
  3. Use a product like Bars Bugs in the windshield water , this will not only help remove bugs etc from the windscreen but lubricate the wipers reducing the possibility of scratching the glass.
  4. Change the wiper blades regularly, not only to ensure visibility in the rain but old dry rubbers can scratch the glass. (Don't forget the blade on the hatch).
  5. How a chipped windscreen could land you in hot water in an accident. It was suggested that if an accident was caused in part by an obscured windscreen then under a negligence clause the insurance could be reduced or even made null and void. This could also apply if the windscreen was dirty.
  6. Check your tyre pressures regularly, did you know that under inflated tyres will wear out faster, are more likely to blow out, increase your stopping distance, and make you use more fuel. The tyre placard found most often on the drivers' door, or doorsill will give the recommended pressure for your vehicle. NOTE most of these pressures are MINIMUM pressures for cold inflation.
  7. Look for uneven wear or feathered edges regularly, if you catch a problem early it could save you hundreds of dollars in replacing the tyres prematurely.
  8. Did you know those annoying dents in the doors can most often be removed without painting the car. Using specialist tools and finely honed skills the panels can be manipulated to massage away the damage. Even if it cannot be removed 100% most often it can be made far less noticeable.
  9. If someone leans on the car even dust or mud on the car could scratch your cars fine paintwork. (Not to mention buckles rivets etc. from their clothing).
